Yacht charter Turkey

Turkey when you charter a yacht  offers many pleasures to the yachtsman.

The Turkish cruise area is very suitable for a yacht cruise because the seas are generally calm, cruises are done very close to the shore and sometimes in lagoon like bays.

Sailing in Turkey does not involve any substantial open sea cruise as you would expect in other parts of the world.

You will also have time to enjoy the small coastal villages charter boats can't visit.

What type of sailing holidays you will find in Turkey

In Turkey you will find most of the popular yacht models to charter, plus the unique gulet.  Gulet is a Turkish built wooden boat of a special wide-body design. You will find it rather cheap to charter a crewed gullet, in comparison with other crewed vessels of any type.

Where you can sail in Turkey

For a first timer who charter a yacht in Turkey, the area around Gocek is beautiful.

Marmaris-Fethiye-Marmaris as well Gocek-Kas-Kekova-Gocek cruise is a good mix of nature and history, when Bodrum has a lot of nature to offer.

Antalya - Kekova cruise covers many ruins. Another itinerary may be Bodrum-Didim-Bodrum. You may add daily tours to Miletus, Dydima, Priene and Ephesus during this cruise.

When is the best time to sail in Turkey

It is better to avoid the high peak season (July 15th - September 15th).  Not only most of the services offered (including charter fees of all sorts) are more expensive, but you will find most of the destinations -especially the popular ones- crowded and overpopulated.

At the season's edges (late April and early October) you will find chartering in very reasonable prices, when the weather is still warm and pleasant.
