There are two ways to approach Poros port. From northeast, after you cross Bourzi inlet, you enter in Poros straights. You must always
be in the right side of the canal, as at the left side are shallows.
You may moor along side here, as the narrow canal does not allow the use of
long anchored chain, or you may cross the canal, turn right and moor stern
to the quay.
If you approach from northwest, you must first pass the Fanari lighthouse
(which indicates the entrance) and after you sail the inner sea (3 miles)
you may moor stern to the key. If you choose to cross the straight and
moor on the east part of the harbour, you must stay close to the left side
of the canal.
The bottom holding is good and the harbour is safe in all weathers
The small town is busy and the
quay is rather noisy until late night hours but it is
worth a visit to one of its' many cafes, restaurants,
bars and tourist shops. |
