It
is easy to spot the harbour approaching from the south from
the churches of Aegina town. Once inside, you may moor
at the north quay (town's mole). The anchor
holding is good (3-5 m. depths) and is offering good
protection from all winds.
Care should be taken when making an approach from the S as
shoal water extends E from Nisis Metopi across to Aigina.
Also, care is needed at the entrance of the harbour as
numerous ferries and hydrofoils use it and they enter and
leave at speed.
Go stern-to or bows-to the town quay. The S mole is
taken up with private and charter company berths. The
harbour gets very crowded with yachts in the summermonths.
The small town is busy and the
quay is rather noisy until late night hours but it is
worth a visit to one of its' many cafes, restaurants,
bars and tourist shops. |
