 Zante harbour is located in front of the
town. When approaching from the north , one can be guided by Cape Cryoneri, with it's rather small lighthouse, and by day by the tall mountain
Skopos, which is located south of the harbour and the town.
When inside the harbour care is needed of the semi-sunk
stone breakwater which protrudes perpendicular to the
windward (North) mole.
Berths intended for pleasure craft are inside the section of the northern
breakwater near the shore with depths of 2.5 to 3.5 meters. The
harbour is safe in all weather
South
of the southern breakwater, construction of a new marina has not
yet reached completion; it does provide protection from the
prevailing winds in the summer, and one may moor there with depths
of just over two meters at the dock, if there are no berths
available in the main harbour. |

- Hourly ferry-boat connection with Kyllini (Peloponnese
coast - about 2 hrs)
- A national road links Kyllini to Patras (80 km)
and Athens (280 km)
- The airport of Zakynthos links this city
daily with Athens (1hr), Thessalonica and international.
