It is not easy by day to
distinguish the entrance to the bay when approaching from the northwest;
however the monastery on the peak of the peninsula is a characteristic land
mark. The harbour is situated on
the western side of the bay and protected by a quay extending north to
south.
It is usually full of fishing caiques with only a few available
berths near the head of the quay. Provides good protection in
all weather barring strong southerlies when waves surge over the break water
and create strong swell in the harbour.
The port has no water, fuel
may be delivered. There are restaurants and within walking distance
bars, taverns and supermarkets.
