At first sight, the majority of the Cyclades islands appear
to be little more than arid, rocky outcrops, but most have a
surprisingly fertile heart.
The prevailing wind in the summer is the infamous meltemi
blowing from the NE-N-NW and cooling the Islands.
Yet, in spite of the characteristics, which the islands have
in common, sparkling sea, sun, the landscape, and the
austere line of the architecture - each retains its own
individual features, which visitors can discover as they
explore them one by one. |
