Day
1
Lefkas Town -
arrival day
Preveza airport
lies 12 km from Levkas town (15 min with
a taxi). After taking over your boat, depending on the time of your arrival, you
can visit the
town, rest, go for a swim
or -time permitting- set sails.
Day 2
Spartokhori (Meganissi
island
-12 nm) |
You will need to sail through
Levkas Canal
-2nm long. The channel is narrow and
poorly marked so care is needed. After the
canal, it is a pleasant downwind (if there is
any wind) sail. The distance is short and
there is time to "play boats" sailing up 'n down
the inland sea. At Spartohori you will
find a concrete dock and 2 wooden pontoons, all
runned from the local taverna owner. There
are mooring lines -do not use your anchor.
Day 3
Vassiliki
(Levkas
island - 16 nm)
Another
pleasant downwind sailing day, though you should
expect high winds as you approach Vassiliki Bay.
The port is located in the south-east of Lefkas,
deep in the large synonymous bay. In the
west side of this bay -close to village Pondi-
is a nice anchorage (4-8 m. depth). The
actual port is located in the east of the bay
and is very shallow. Just stay close to
the breakwater. In Vassiliki you will find
organised windsurf and diving centers.
