1
Alimos marina -
arrival day
After taking over your boat, depending on the time of your arrival, you
can visit Athens, rest, go for a swim
or -time permitting- set sails.
Day 2
Hydra
(Hydra
island - 36 nm)
Hydra is perhaps the most beautiful port
village in whole of Greece. |
A tiny harbor ringed with cafes, restaurants and
gold shops is surrounded by a village of stone
houses and villas that rise up the hills like an
amphitheatre. From Alimos to Hydra is a
pleasant 5-6 hrs downwind sail.
Day 3
Livadi (Serifos
island - 60 nm)
Serifos is
pretty spectacular. With it's many mountains and
the old Chora on the hill behind the port of
Livadi, Serifo's Chora is correctly
characterized as a traditional settlement.
From Hydra Town head N and set a course to the S
cape of Serifos. The distance is long, so
you should rather start early. When you
approach Livadi Bay you should expect strong
gusts of wind. If you don't find a berth
on the S side of the quay (which will protect
you from the fierce gusts during the night) use
as much chain as possible and make sure your
anchor is holding.
