Kamari Port
in Kos island
Situated on the
S end of Kos, this bay and the small harbour
offer good shelter from the meltemi. A
large white hotel on the N side of the bay
is conspicuous from some distance off and
the small harbour is on the W side of the
bay.
Anchor in the bay in 4-6 m, or go
stern-to or bows-to or alongside the outer
end of the mole. There is also room in
the small fishing harbour for a few yachts.
The bottom is sand and weed - good holding.
With the meltemi blowing the gusts into the
bay are not strong or prolonged.
Water at the root of the mole. Also, a
taverna at the root of the mole and a disco
further round the beach. Kamari is no
longer a tranquil spot, being plagued with
water bikes and water-ski boats which apart
from making an irritating noise appear to be
driven largely by irritating people. source & more info:
