on Sifnos island
It is difficult to see where the entrance is to the bay - vessels appear to
pop out of a slit in the cliffs. Once near the entrance the buildings
of the town and the outer mole can be seen.
It is advisable to take
down your sails before entering the bay as with the meltemi there are strong
gusts from all directions at the entrance and inside the bay.
Berth stern or bows-to the quay between the two moles or anchor at the
head of the bay. The bottom is hard sand and weed with some rocks -
fair holding. Good shelter from the meltemi, although there are strong
