Boat owner
The person or company, who owns the boat's titles and
"bill of sale". In legal terms, the owner has the right to sign a
charter contract for his boat (or boats) ONLY, compared with a
charter agent, who can sign contracts for other people's yachts as well. |

Sidenote A yacht owner can have one or many yachts. For
the purposes of this site, when we refer to an "owner" this is a person
who owns only one -or maximum up to three- yachts.
For this site, the meaning of the words
"booked from the owner" are valid -only- when you will meet this person when
you deliver your boat.
It is reasonable that, if one owns more than
three yachts, he cannot possibly be in several places -and meet his
clients- at the same time, therefore he needs to employ staff and
authorize them to do the job.
Except that, when an owner owns many yachts,
he is
"forced" sometimes to pass some of his bookings -in order to "best
serve" the booking plans of his own boats- to other friends or
colleagues, who own the same type of yachts as his.
No matter if he makes money -or not- from
this "transaction", he is acting as a
local yacht charter agent,
accepting bookings on other peoples yachts.
