Differences when bareboating in Croatia
  • All of the significant segments of nautical tourism have been brought together under the Croatian Association of Nautical Tourism, which was established as a professional organization under the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. This association includes four groups: the Croatian Marinas Group, the Croatian Charter Vessels Group, the Croatian Diving Tourism Group and the Cruising and Motor Sailboat Excursions Group.
  • Each company issue their own charter contract.  Although they are -more or less- similar there are differences and you should ask from your agency to provide you one to read it carefully before you make your booking.
  • Normally, charters start on Saturdays at 17:00 hrs and end at 09:00 hrs
  • One person with sailing skills within your crew is enough to legally charter a bareboat.
  • all charter companies has to report to Croatian harbor office, over Internet, all crew members on each boat and yacht before starting the charter week. When the Port Police stops the boat, they check the report over Internet, and they have to find this boat and all crew members on it.
  • To my knowledge, there is no law limiting the size of the boats allowed to perform bareboat charters.
