Sun Odyssey 47
Jeanneau introduced the Sun
Odyssey 47 (designed by Phillipe
Briand) in 1991 as a
replacement to the Sun Kiss 47
model. Wide and
comfortable -even in the
4-cabins charter version- didn't
succeed on making a career in
bareboating since much smaller
vessels offering 4-cabin layout
had already appeared in early
'90's (smaller=cheaper).
Performances and handling Although she is not very fast,
the Sun Odyssey 47 is very
stable, performing rather like a
blue water boat than a charter
vessel. She will not
"bang" when you sail against the
waves and is easy steered when
sailing down-wind.
All halyards, control lines and

“solidwood” mouldings. Lateral
beaming of the coachroof gives a particular
character to

Charter price
The price you will need to pay for this boat
-€ 3.700 per week- is average compared
with the same age yachts and very good when
you compare with newer vessels.
Yet,
you will find difficulties on finding a Sun
Odyssey 47 to charter, as you will find this
boat on a very few agents catalogues.
