Lagoon
420 Hybrid
|
The Lagoon 420 Hybrid is the
only production boat on the market
today that comes with a true hybrid
diesel-electric auxiliary power
system.
Complete installation is composed of
two electric motors connected to
propellers by straight shaft
transmissions, one generator and two
set of 6 batteries.
• When batteries are 100 % charged,
the boat will be able to function
with both motors
for approximately two hours
(depending on speed). When batteries
are 80 % charged, the generator will
automatically start and charge the
batteries and provide electricity
for the motors.
• When sailing, propellers will turn
freely and charge the batteries.
The result is a modern,
forward-looking solution; offering a
clean and ecological system, low
fuel consumption and little carbon
dioxide emission. On top of
that, she runs in silence and there
is only one fuel engine to maintain
(the generator).

Performances and handling With a
light displacement of 24,492 pounds, the 420 is
not a lightweight cat but, instead, a fairly
solid and stable cruising platform that benefits
from both the easy sailing and motoring
qualities of a cruising cat and the huge volume
inside the saloon and hulls for living
accommodations. Accommodation
The cockpit aft is large and covered with a
rigid Bimini. The saloon has the
galley placed
immediately to port and a large oval dinette
that will seat eight to starboard. The
chart table and nav station are positioned to port and
forward next to the dinette so you can sit
inside during bad weather and still see out
while controlling the boat with the autopilot.
The charter version offers a
4-cabin layout.
The port hull has two
spacious
cabins, each with a queen-size berth and a head with shower in the sidewalk passage, while the starboard hull can
be similarly configured or made into a suite
in the
owner's version.
Charter price
The requested €6.140 charter price is reasonable
and average for similar vessels. The
Lagoon 420 is an excellent choice for a large
family -or a group up to 8 people- who plan t
sail in secluded waters
