Dufour 43 Classic
|
The Classic 43 model was designed from
Umberto
Felci/Patrick Roseo for Dufour Yachts and firstly
appeared in 1999 to remain in production for
a couple of years only. With two more
Dufour models at 43 feet (Atoll
4 and
Dufour/Gib Sea 43) there is a small
confusion in the various agents pricelists.
Performances and handling
The boat sails well at all courses.
Dufour designed her with only one keel type
(1,90 m. fin keel)
Handling is easy. There are
furling systems on both sails and all
halyards and sheets are operated from the cockpit.
The quality of the accessories is above the
average.
Accommodation
Walking down the steps, the
saloon is
bright and well ventilated. The
finishing details are very good and the
materials used of high quality. The
4-cabins version accommodates
eight guests.
Charter price
The good quality has its price, so the €
3.400 for a charter week is
of the highest for the category.
Dufour offered with the Classic 43
a quality boat suitable for charters.
Yet, it seems that this combination is not
successful and the high charter price made
her unpopular.
