1949
The nautical department is established within Elan Company. It
starts manufacturing boats, kayaks, canoes, as well as canoes for 4 and
8 persons, using waterproof wooden discs.
1950-1952
"Elan-marine" Department is progressively redirect its
production to collapsible rubber kayaks.
1957-1958
Elan marine receives orders from America and so starts again
with manufacturing of wooden kayaks. During coming years, Elan produced
around 700 yachts and other boats, such called Olympia, for the American
market.
1962-1970
At the time when "polyester" aroused the revolution in
shipbuilding, Elan marine starts with producing boats from enhanced
polyester. First boat such made was long 3,5 m. It had 3 vertions: Neptun
1, Neptun 2 and Fortuna. During the first year it has been produced more
that 100 such boats, exported mostly to Sweden. First yachts in 60s and
the beginning of 70s, as well as mass production of small flying junior
sailboats, europe, s-430, s-425 and s-375.
1970-1980
The Company starts with manufacturing of motor boats named "Turist".
The version t--401 and gt-459 are still produced nowaday. 600 boats per
year were sold during best years, and during 27 years from the biginning
of their manufacturing, more than 10 000 of them were sold.
1972
Together with German company Atlanta, Elan
develops the biggest sailboats at that time, long 6m, called "Flamingo"
1978
Mr. Miha Pretnar makes the sailboat Elan 707, long 7,7m.
1980
In cooperation with Albimarine Elan introduces the new sailboat
Elan express, a very comfortable and luxurious boat that overflows the
Adriatic and lakes all over Europe.
1983
Elan produces the sailboat Elan 31, which makes the base of big
sailboats manufacturing at Elan.
1985-1993
In cooperation with brothers Jakopin, they introduce a whole
palette of sailboats, such as Elan 19- in 1985, Elan 43 - in 1987, Elan
33 and Elan 331 - in 1987, Elan 34 - in 1990 and Elan 38 - in 1993.
1994
Elan begins cooperating with Rob Humphreys, one of most famous designers
today for designing the model elan 295. Owing to Humphreys, a whole line
of fast family cruisersit has been developed : E36 - in 1996, E333 - in
1998, E45 - in 2000, E40 and E31 - in 2001.
2001
Elan builds a new plant in Begunje, Slovenia and introduces the
model Elan 40.
2002
Elan begins with manufacturing power boats in Obrovac (Croatia)
and introduces the model Elan 31.
2003
Elan introduces the model Elan 37 and Elan power 35.
