How to stay connected while on charter
You have booked a charter but have thoughts
in the back of your mind wondering how you will
communicate with family and friends back home. Some
of you may leave behind love ones that are sick or
unable to take care of themselves. In this situation
the future charterer may be scrambling to make
arrangements for unobstructed communications.
The truth is, if you bring your cell phone it may
work in some areas but probably not all. Verizon
subscribers may find it easy to make calls because
they provide service in about ten islands around the
area.
Our office in Tortola carries CCT Boat Phone. It is
recommended that our charterers use this particular
communications service because it is the best way
for staff members to communicate with you and vice
versa while on charter. The radio on board the
vessels only work about a mile from the office, this
is why this service is suggested.
If you decide to go with this option, CCT Boat Phone
will require a $25 per day deposit. The good thing
about opting out for this is that any calls made
between the boat and base are free. All of the other
phone calls will be deducted from your credit card
deposit. If you happen to have no use for the phone,
then Boat Phone will credit your card back within 30
days.
If a family member or friend can not get a hold of
you they may contact the office. Our daytime phone
number is 284-494-6661 during 8:30-5pm. They may
also call our toll free number 800-262-0308. In the
event of an emergency they can call one of
associates cell phones 284-499-2079.
