Almi Yachts
I restructured the activities of Almi Yachts over
a number of years - I couldn't do otherwise - and in 1999 the internet boom, with the accompanying ease of access to you, my
clients, brought about the decision to move the company, along
with my family, to Corfu. I prefer living in Corfu anyway, away
from the great metropolis of Athens - I could, thanks to the
internet, live in Guadalajara and still perform my duties. I
also changed my modus operandi to direct access between you and
me, with no more agents and intermediaries to have to rely upon.
This does not mean to say that we do not welcome
dialogue and co-operation with agents, but this has to be on a basis of mutual respect and understanding. At the same time we
dramatically reduced our overhead costs by closing the 5 bases
and 25 employees we had and entered into agreements with
representatives on the major Greek islands, whom you will meet
when you start and finish your holidays with us, along with a
small army of service providers - technicians, sail makers,
engineers, etc. These people are all at your disposal whenever
you may have need of them.
Taking all this into consideration you have
logged on to the wrong website if you are looking for fancy
offices and lavish marketing methods allied to the cheapest
possible sailing holiday. The yacht, not a plush office, is the
benchmark and key to your holiday. I like to provide, via the
owners Almi Yachts is contracted, yachts that are well
maintained and looked after and prefer to pay those owners the
right price for those considerations. Naturally, I have to make
a living and whilst you will find in our web pages sensible
commercial discounts for various eventualities, I am not prepared
to haggle as if the whole transaction was an "eastern bazaar".
You have logged on to the right website if you
are looking for
- high quality, well
maintained yachts
- the guarantee that if
something goes wrong during your holiday help is at hand on
a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week basis, in the shortest
possible time
- the feeling that you are
treated as a guest as well as a client, and that from the
time you arrive at the Greek airport you are not alone, you
do not feel cheated or abandoned, and that this feeling
follows you throughout your holiday until you take your
flight home.
In Almi Yachts we believe in the pluralism of
the web and I have no hesitation in introducing you to other
websites - even those of our competitors - to ensure that you
find what you need. Through our
directory you have a multitude of sites to choose from
- offering charter, brokerage, chandlery, etc. and you are
welcome to contact these companies direct. The linked sites are not under my control and I
am not responsible for the contents of either these sites or
further links introduced. They are provided to you as
a convenience and in good faith. Link inclusion does not
imply an endorsement of such sites. Please read our
disclaimer page. Feel free to
subscribe to our mailing list, which
you will find at the top of this, and all other pages in our
site, but make sure you read our
mailing list policy
before you subscribe. Promotional e-mail bombardment is not my
style, so you can rest assured that you will only receive
informative and relevant information. Conversely, we welcome
feed-back from you also. I will close this presentation the way I opened
it - by repeating that Almi Yachts is a small family company and
that every client is an "asset" and will be treated as such. If
you look at me as your "friend" in Greece, who will assist you
with your sailing holiday, then I will do my best not to
disappoint you.
