1 Gouvia marina -
arrival day |
 |
|
Corfu
island |
 |
Arriving at Gouvia Marina you will be met by the flotilla crew who will
get to know you -and vice versa- and hand over your yacht. After the
check-in, depending upon the time of your arrival, you can do some
shopping rest or go for a swim. In the evening you will have your
first dinner together, with the other members of the flotilla so that
introductions can be made, in one of the local taverns in Kontokali
village, which is located right outside of Gouvia marina. |
| |
|
| Day 2 Gouvia marina - Petriti (17 nm) |
 |

After
the skipper's briefing (not very early) you will set sail for the authentic
fishing village of Petriti. You can watch the fishermen sailing
out in the evening and returning the next morning with that night's
catch. Dinner at the local taverns is always accompanied with one
-maybe two- glasses of ouzo, the local aperitif. |
| |
|
|
Day
3 Petriti - Lakka (18 nm) |
 |
|
Paxos Island |
 |
From Petriti village we sail across to the island of Paxos, to the
picturesque bay of Lakka, on the north coast of Paxos
island. Approaching the entrance to the bay
the waters are turquoise and a number of small white beaches surround you. Most of
the time during July/August the village is crowded and mooring on the small quay is
difficult, but the bay is protected and secluded and there is anchoring room for everyone.
Going ashore with the dinghy has its own charm. Coming back to the boat
later, after a good dinner and a few drinks is a different story. For sure
unforgettable. |

Day
4 Lakka
- Parga (12 nm) |
 |
|
Epirus (mainland Greece) |
 |

Your next destination is the beautiful
town of Parga. It is a small, picturesque town with many attractions.
Parga has been
built like an amphitheatre around the bay and is flanked by small inlets and coves, sandy
beaches and islets off-shore with thickly wooded hills all around. It is a perfect
setting for a landscape artist. |

|
| Day
5
Parga - Gaios (12 nm) |
 |
|
Paxos island |
 |
From Parga you sail across to the island of Paxos, to Port Gaios, the capital of the island. Although Gaios is a tourist resort and
very cosmopolitan, especially in July and August, you can always find
space in a nice terrace, shop or tavern in the narrow streets, behind
the boulevard |
| |
|
|
Day
6 Gaios - Mourtos (15 nm) |
 |
|
Epirus (mainland Greece) |
 |
On
the very next morning we set sail for Mourtos, a small village on
mainland Greece, hidden behind a group of tiny islands, called Sivota.
Mourtos has a beautiful boulevard and a number of terraces along with to
stroll, take a cold drink and admire one of the most beautiful sunsets
in the area. |
| |
|
Day
7 Mourtos - Gouvia marina (24 nm) |
 |
Regrettably, the last sailing day has come and
we sail back to Gouvia marina, where we tie up at the same place from
where we had departed two weeks ago. On the way there are many
bays to stop for that last lunch and swim in the Ionian Sea.
Note Two week sailors will not return to Gouvia Marina, but
they will enjoy a free day. You will meet with the flotilla again
on the next day and sail the
North Corfu itinerary for the next week. |
