Sailing maps & charts

The vessel you will charter will most likely be equipped with all the maps, charts and books you will need for your holiday.  Yet, the experienced sailors are always carrying with them their own charts.  Doing so you can:

• Have the latest edition, updated with all the important changes and information (the yacht's maps will be older and sometimes obsolete).

• Keep notes and plot your course on the chart.  You are not allowed to do that on the vessel's charts, and

• Last -but not least- to take home with you your charts at the end of your trip.  The best souvenir, to remind you of your sailing expeditions in later years.

Nautical charts are not cheap, but still the purchase cost is a very small percentage of your total holiday costs - flights, yacht, provisions, etc.-  an excellent "value for money" investment indeed.
