WEEK TWO |
| Day
1 Gouvia marina -
arrival day |
 |
|
Corfu
island |
 |

Your Corfu holiday starts at Gouvia Marina, which is the main Corfiot marine for visiting and charter boats, about
15 minutes by taxi from Corfu airport (the fare is about euros 25).
After taking over your boat, depending on the time of your arrival, you
can visit
Corfu
town (7 km. away), rest, go for a swim or set sails. In the evening you will
have your first dinner in one of the local taverns in Kontokali village,
which is located right outside of Gouvia marina. |
| |
|
| Day
2 Gouvia marina - Mourtos (Sivota) (24 nm) |
 |
 Mourtos
is a small village on mainland Greece, hidden behind a group of tiny
islands, called Sivota. Mourtos has a beautiful boulevard and a
number of terraces along with to stroll, take a cold drink and admire
one of the most beautiful sunsets in the area. |
| |
|
| Day
3 Sivota - Lakka Bay (12 nm) |
 |
|
Paxos Island |
 |
From Sivota you will sail across to the
picturesque bay of Lakka, on the north coast of Paxos
island. Approaching the entrance to the bay
the waters are turquoise and a number of small white beaches surround you. Most of
the time during July/August the village is crowded and mooring on the small quay is
difficult, but the bay is protected and secluded and there is anchoring room for everyone.
Going ashore with the dinghy has its own charm. Coming back to the boat
later, after a good dinner and a few drinks is a different story. For sure
unforgettable. |
|
|
| Day 4 Lakka - Fiskardo (50 nm) |
 |
|
Kefalonia Island |
 |
Fiscardo is a
colourful little port on the north east tip of Kefalonia, 50 kilometres
from Argostoli -the island's capital. It is the only village to have survived the 1953
earthquake almost unscathed, and the architecture of the Venetians is in
rich evidence.
The village waterfront plays host to whitewashed shops, balconies
decorated with bright flowers, sleepy cafe bars, fruit sellers, fishing
boats and visiting yachts, varied taverns and small craft shops.
The sheltered bay looks out towards the mountainous coastline of Ithaca.
Daily ferries from Fiscardo visit the small port of Frikes in Ithaca and
Vassiliki in Lefkas. |
| |
|
|
Day 5 Fiskardo
- Kioni (12 nm) |
 |
|
Ithaca Island |
 |
A
pretty traditional seaside village, 24kms north of Vathi, the islands
capital. Kioni is under
protection for its preservation, it is built in the heart of the inlet
on the gentle green slopes. All around the harbour area are beautiful
houses which survived the earthquake of 1953, which destroyed much on
the Ionian islands. This village has become the leading tourist resort
on the island. |
| |
|
| Day
6 Kioni
- Vassiliki (13 nm) |
 |
|
Lefkas Island |
 |
Vassiliki's port is
located in the south-east of Lefkas, deep in the large synonymous bay.
In the west side of this bay -close to village Pondi- is a nice
anchorage (4-8 m. depth). The actual port is located in the east
of the bay and is very shallow. Just stay close to the
breakwater. A natural spring favours this part of the island and
runs through the south of the village. |
