| Day 7 Vassiliki - Meganissi
island (18 nm) |
 |
|
Lefkas
island |
 |

The bay of Spartohori is at the north end of
Meganissi. The
town itself lies at the top of a very steep cliff, but the 15-20 minutes walk is well
worth the effort, with a splendid view and quaint houses either side of narrow
streets. |
| |
|
| Day 8
Meganissi
- Lefkas town (10 nm) |
 |
Lefkas town is separated from the Greek mainland by a narrow channel via
a pontoon bridge. This is a good place to get the supplies
up to date for the last part of the holiday. There are many shops, banks and
taverns. You may be lucky and arrive at the time of one of the many song festivals,
which take place throughout the summer. |
| |
|
|
Day 9 Lefkas
town - Preveza 10 nm |
 |
|
Epirus (mainland) |
 |
The
Preveza port of entry lies on the Greek mainland, guarding the gulf of
Amvrakia.
Leading
lights will guide your way into the gulf. On the left side of the
channel a dense forest and the Fort St. George can be seen.
The channel is not likely to live up to the “official” depth
of 8 meters - due to silting 6 meters and a strong cross-current is
mentioned. |
|
|
| Day 10
Preveza - Parga (16 nm) |
 |
|
Epirus (mainland Greece) |
 |
Next destination is the beautiful town of Parga. It is a small,
picturesque town with many attractions. Parga has been built like
an amphitheatre around the bay and is flanked by small inlets and coves,
sandy beaches and islets off-shore with thickly wooded hills all around.
It is a perfect setting for a landscape artist. |
|
|
| Day 11 Parga - Port Gaios
(12 nm) |
 |
|
Paxos Island |
 |
Paxos
is the smallest of the seven main Ionian Islands. When
you step ashore at Gaios,
the islands little port, you will find an exquisite miniature world just
waiting to be discovered. Its charming 19th century houses,
threaded by narrow lanes, lie at the
end of a closed “fjiord” surrounded by trees and shrubs. You can
berth right in the middle of the busy scenery of this charming place. |
| |
|
|
Day 12 Gaios - Petriti
(17 nm) |
 |
|
Corfu
island |
 |
The
return to the shores of Corfu starts with the authentic fishing village of
Petriti.
You can watch the fishermen sailing out in the evening and returning the next morning with
that night's catch. Dinner at the local taverns is always accompanied with one
-maybe two- glasses of ouzo, the local aperitif. |
| |
|
Day
13 Petriti - Gouvia marina (18 nm) |
 |
Regrettably, the last sailing day of your
Corfu holidays has come and
you will sail back to Gouvia marina. On the way there are many
bays to stop for that last lunch and swim in the Ionian Sea. |
